I had the fortune of being raised in West Cornwall, spending my childhood making dens in the bracken and swimming in the sea year round. A son of artists and insatiable travellers, I have since spent much of my adult life in South America floating between glaciers and rainforests, periodically putting down roots in Chile and Guyana.

I have an MSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford, and largely by accident have become the Director of a humanitarian NGO in Guyana since 2018. My true passion however, has always been for the natural world and for seeking out those roadless corners of the map on and against which humanity defines itself.

On my wanderings, I have always tried to see them through the lenses I've been afforded: anthropology, art and history.
